  6.      One of the many effects of television on radio has been to 
  7. shift radio from an entertainment medium into a kind of 
  8. nervous information system. News bulletins, time signals, 
  9. traffic data, and, above all, weather reports now serve to 
  10. enhance the native power of radio to involve people in one 
  11. another. Weather is that medium that involves all people 
  12. equally. It is the top item on radio, showering us with fountains 
  13. of auditory space or lebensraum .
